I Have a video to share with you. this video is about programming your mind like a computer. This lecture is based on a YouTube video by Taliesin McKnight called “How to Program Your Mind”.

Now the first thing I want to talk about is the conscious and subconscious mind. Your conscious mind is the part of your mind that you're consciously aware of, your thoughts, you're analyzing everything, your memories, everything that's at the surface that you're aware of is your conscious mind. For example, if you're thinking, you know what; I think I'm going to go to work at this time because I have to do this. Oh yeah, I remember this. Talking to people, looking at your environment, interacting with others is all part of the conscious mind. Subconscious means below the conscious. This is the part of the mind that we're not aware of. It is below your conscious level. This includes things like repressed emotions and repressed urges. Your subconscious also includes your basic memory so that when you're conscious, you will retrieve memories for your conscious mind to use. Your subconscious is everything that you're not directly aware of. Now basically when you are born, you yourself are like a blank canvas. Over the course of years you have painted this image of who think you are. Now the idea is that you can become a blank canvas once again so that you can paint whatever you want on it. You can be the person that you want to be. All you have to do is change the programming, so if you have some negative traits, you can program yourself out of them.
There are many methods to use to program your mind such as hypnosis. Now, what is hypnosis? The word hypnosis comes from the Greek word “ýpnos”, which means sleep. In hypnosis often times another person gets you into a relaxed state of mind which is called induction. They then use suggestions to program your mind. Wikipedia.org defines Hypnosis as; “Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness and an enhanced capacity to respond to suggestion. During hypnosis, a person is said to have heightened focus and concentration. The person can concentrate intensely on a specific thought or memory, while blocking out sources of distraction. Hypnotized subjects are said to show an increased response to suggestions. Hypnosis is usually induced by a procedure known as a hypnotic induction involving a series of preliminary instructions and suggestion.” You don’t necessarily need another person to be hypnotized. There is a technique known as self hypnosis. It is a method where you hypnotize yourself and this could be used for all kinds of things like to overcome bad habits or to boost your self esteem. So in self hypnosis you get into a relaxed state of mind by the use of meditation. You go into a calm, quiet environment, close your eyes, breathe in a balanced rhythm and visualize yourself relaxing so that your body becomes totally relaxed. When your body and mind become totally relaxed, you can use a method called conscious auto suggestion to help program your mind. This is a technique where you repeat a suggestion over and over; whatever you're trying to program yourself with. For example, whatever you're trying to do. It could be like I'm popular, I’m popular. This can help boost your self esteem. Let's say that you are depresed. It could be like, I'm happy, I'm happy. You could be having trouble getting a job and you procrastinate. You could tell yourself; I have a good work ethics, I have a good work ethics. In addition, there is also a mirror technique where you look into your own eyes in the mirror and you repeat your suggestion over and over. It is whatever input you're putting in your mind to program it. Now when you repeat something over and over, that thought programs the subconscious mind. So these are some techniques that use a method of suggestion with the use of Hypnosis to program your mind.
There are also techniques used for self transformation and for changing your life. The idea is that you could change yourself and the life you live in this world. One such technique is called visualization where you visualize your goals on a regular basis and really believe that your goals will come to reality in your life. For example, if you want to become wealthy; you visualize yourself having a wealthy life. Like driving a fancy car and living in an expensive house. You see yourself as being wealthy. You might visualize these thing several times a day for many months or until they manifest. There are many New Age beliefs like “The Law of Attraction” that use similar methods. The thelawofattraction.com states, “Simply put, the Law of Attraction is the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. It is believed that regardless of age, nationality or religious belief, we are all susceptible to the laws which govern the Universe, including the Law of Attraction. It is the Law of Attraction which uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialize them into reality. In basic terms, all thoughts turn into things eventually. If you focus on negative doom and gloom you will remain under that cloud. If you focus on positive thoughts and have goals that you aim to achieve you will find a way to achieve them with massive action” There is a good book on this subject called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I will put a link in the description of this video to the book. Now then, the Idea is that by visualizing, in your mind, the life you want on a regular basis, it will manifest in the real world. This method could also be used to help you quit smoking or other bad habits like abusing alcohol or using illegal drugs. The practice of visualization is a very practical and hands on method and is used to create real changes in your life. Most people try to change their outside world and they try to conquer their environment. People try to mold and change the external world, but very few people focus on self change (working on themselves from inside and in their mind). In the process of self transformation, the idea is that you change your inside world, then in return the external world will naturally change for you.
The self-image is a concept. It is your mental idea of yourself. Part of this comes from your thoughts of yourself or your thoughts of what you think other people think about you. Now, some people suffer from negative self imaging. Well, almost everyone has some kind of negative thoughts about themselves. Your concept of yourself is sometimes revealed through body language. A lot of times when we interact with others it is done through body language. Say that you feel that you're bad with people and you go out into a social environment it is believed that many people can pick up on your anxiety and most of the time, people will treat you as you project yourself because that's their judgment on who you are. By watching your body language and how you react with others, some people can tell a lot about you. But if you program your mind by using some of the techniques in this video like conscious auto suggestion or visualization and tell yourself over and over and over, I'm Good With People, I'm Good With People. This can help change your inside world and your self image of yourself and in effect, your self image will come off as confident and self assured.
And so to conclude, these are some very practical ways to tap into the powers of the subconscious mind; self-hypnosis, conscious auto suggestion, and using visualization for self transformation. These are just a few methods and techniques that are used to program your mind like a computer. Self administered programming of the mind so to speak.
